Vandex International, Ltd., Thun, Switzerland is the pre-eminent international manufacturer of concrete protection and waterproofing products. Vandex received ISO 9001 quality certification in 1994, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1996. The Vandex system of concrete waterproofing and protection is based on cementitious inorganic products that are completely compatible with concrete, both physically and chemically. Vandex products offer an effective and permanent waterproofing of concrete structures exposed to water pressure and provide protection against corrosion of reinforcement, freeze/thaw action, and seawater. "VANDEX SUPER" provides permanent waterproofing of concrete structures exposed to water pressure. A surface-applied waterproofing slurry that protects concrete in depth, "VANDEX SUPER" consists of rapid-hardening Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand, and a compound of active chemicals. Since "VANDEX SUPER" penetrates the concrete, it becomes an integral part of the concrete and remains there for the duration of the structure. "VANDEX SUPER" can be applied to all structurally sound concrete, new or old. It may be applied to either the pressure or non-pressure concrete face (i.e. with or against water pressure). "VANDEX SUPER" is certified in conformance with the requirements of NSF Standard 61 "Drinking Water Systems Components - Health Effects" for use in contact with potable water.
