PRODUCT USE: SOMAY Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel, Product No. 624 is durable and resistant to mildew. It provides good
protection for the surface on which it is coated, is washable, and is spot and stain resistant. RECOMMENDED: SOMAY Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel is recom-mended for
both exterior and interior surfaces that are properly prepared, such as concrete, concrete blocks, stucco, stone, bricks, unglazed tile, painted or unpainted plaster, drywall, wallboard, primed wood, primed
metal and wallpaper. SURFACE PREPARATION: The secret of a successful painting job is proper surface preparation. Surfaces MUST be free of anything which could adversely affect
the adhesion of this coating to the surface, including loose, scaling, peeling, blistering, chipping, cracking, flaking, chalking or powdering paint; dust, dirt, sand, soot, grease, oil, tar, wax, soap film
or petro-leum-based residue; lye, lime, chlorine, salt, calcimine, efflorescence, or any other chemically reactive substance; and must be completely free of all mold, fungus, mildew or any other growing
organism of any kind. Infirm surfaces MUST be made firm. Scrape off all loose, peeling, blistering, chipping, cracking or flaking paint. Wire brushing, pressure cleaning, power
sanding or sandblasting may be used to remove powdering and chalking paint. To remove dirt, grease, etc., wash with water and detergent and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. To remove
mildew, fungus, etc., scrub with a solution made with 16 fluid ounces (473 mL) of liquid household bleach and 2 fluid ounces (59 mL) of detergent in one gallon (3.785 L) of water. Rinse thoroughly with
clean water. Patch all cracks, and when dry, sand smooth and seal. You should have a completely clean and firm surface before any new coating is applied. UNPAINTED WOOD SURFACES
: Sand and seal knots. Countersink nails, putty holes, and seal. When the surface is properly prepared and completely clean and dry, apply one coat of SOMAY
Wood Primer. Allow to dry before applying finish coat of Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel. UNPAINTED METAL SURFACES: Be sure metal is clean and free of rust and
oxidation. When the surface is properly prepared and completely clean and dry, apply a primer coat of SOMAY Metal Primer. Allow to dry before applying finish coat of
Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel. UNPAINTED MASONRY:
New masonry surfaces can be painted as soon as the masonry has thoroughly set. Be sure all loose or excess sand is removed before painting. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED WOOD SUR-FACES:
Scrape off all loose paint. Wire brushing or power sanding may be necessary to remove loose, powdery or heavily chalked paint. Prime all bare wood with SOMAY
Wood Primer. Sand all glossy surfaces. Apply finish coat of Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED MASONRY SURFACES: Scrape off all loose paint.
Wire brush to remove all powdering or chalking paint. If powdering or chalking come off on the hand when rubbed over the surface, then a coat of SOMAY Surface Conditioner
should be applied, according to directions, before applying Vinyl/Acrylic Latex Semi-Gloss Enamel. Patch all cracks and when dry, sand smooth and seal. Apply finish coat.
APPLICATION: Apply only at tem-peratures above 50° F. (10° C). Stir thoroughly before using and occasionally while using. Apply paint as it comes from the can. DO NOT THIN or
ADULTERATE with any additives. Apply generously, using brush or roller. Avoid excessive brushingor rolling. If two coats are desired for even longer lasting durability, allow first coat to
dry approximately 2 hours, under normal drying conditions before applying another coat. COVERAGE: To develop a 2-mil dry film thickness, apply at a rate of 300 square feet per
gallon on a smooth, non-porous surface. On a porous, rough or textured surface, a gallon should cover from 150 to 250 square feet at the same film thickness. DRYING TIME: Dries
to the touch in about 30 minutes, under normal drying conditions. Allow to dry overnight or approx. 12 hours, before applying a second coat. CLEAN UP: Keep a damp cloth
handy to wipe up spills immediately. Clean hands, brushes, rollers, tools and other equipment immediately after use in warm, soapy water. |
