This Premium Quality
Exterior Latex Flat House Paint and Interior Flat Wall Paint has a higher percentage of Resin, Titanium Dioxide and Total Volume Solids, providing exceptional durability, greater coverage and superior resistance to mildew.
"PVA" provides superior protection for the surface on which it is coated, outperforming less expensive vinyl/acrylic paints. Surfaces coated with "PVA"
will not need to be recoated as often, so it is the least expensive to use over the years. It is washable, and is spot and stain resistant. "PVA" is available in stock colors, and can be
tinted to custom colors. RECOMMENDED FOR: Both exterior and interior surfaces such as concrete, concrete blocks, stucco, stone, bricks, unglazed tile, painted or unpainted plaster,
drywall, wallboard, primed wood, primed metal and wallpaper. SURFACE PREPARATION:
The secret of a successful painting job is proper surface preparation. Surfaces MUST be free of anything which could adversely affect the adhesion of this coating to the surface, including loose, scaling, peeling, blistering, chipping, cracking, flaking, chalking or powdering paint; dust, dirt, sand, soot, grease, oil, tar, wax, soap film or petroleum-based residue; lye, lime, chlorine, salt, calcimine, efflorescence, or any other chemically reactive substance; and must be completely free of all mildew, mold, fungus, or any other growing organism of any kind. Infirm surfaces MUST be made firm.
PREVIOUSLY PAINTED MASONRY SURFACES:
Water blasting, pressure cleaning, power sanding or sandblasting may be used to remove infirm, powdering and chalking paint. To remove dirt, grease, etc., wash with water and detergent and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. To remove mildew, mold, fungus, etc., scrub with a solution made with 16 fluid ounces (473 mL) of liquid household bleach and 2 fluid ounces (59 mL) of detergent in one gallon (3.785 L) of water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. If powdering or chalking come off on the hand when rubbed over the surface, then a coat of SOMAY Surface Conditioner should be applied, according to directions, before applying
"PVA". Patch all cracks, and when dry, sand smooth and seal. You should have a completely clean and firm surface before any new coating is applied. UNPAINTED WOOD SURFACES:
Sand and seal knots. Countersink nails, putty holes, and seal. When the surface is properly prepared and completely clean and dry, apply one coat of SOMAY Wood Primer. Allow to dry before applying finish coat of
"PVA". UNPAINTED METAL SURFACES:
Be sure metal is clean and free of rust and oxidation. When the surface is properly prepared and completely clean and dry, apply a primer coat of SOMAY Metal Primer. Allow to dry before applying finish coat of
"PVA". UNPAINTED MASONRY: New masonry surfaces can be painted as soon as the masonry has thoroughly set. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED WOOD SURFACES:
Scraping, wire brushing or power sanding may be necessary to remove loose, powdery or heavily chalked paint. Prime all bare wood with SOMAY Wood Primer. Sand all glossy surfaces. Apply finish coat of
"PVA". APPLICATION: Apply only at temperatures above 50° F. (10° C). Stir thoroughly before using and occasionally while using. Apply paint as it comes in the can from the
manufacturer. DO NOT THIN or ADULTERATE with any additives. Apply generously, using brush, roller or spray. Avoid excessive brushing or rolling. Two coats will provide longer lasting durability.
COVERAGE:
To develop a 2-mil thick coating, apply at the rate of 275 sq.ft./gal. to a smooth, non-porous surface. On a porous, rough or textured surface, a gallon should cover from 150 to 250 square feet.
DRYING TIME:
Will be affected by temperature, humidity, sunniness, wind or air movement, etc. Dries to the touch in about 30 minutes, under normal drying conditions. Allow to dry at least 2 hours, before applying a second coat, under ideal drying conditions. Overnight drying between coats is preferred.
CLEAN UP: Keep a damp cloth handy to wipe up spills immediately. Clean hands, brushes, rollers, tools and other equipment immediately after use in warm, soapy water.
CAUTION! Harmful if swallowed. Do not take internally. Close container after each use. Avoid
prolonged contact with skin and breathing of vapors. Use with adequate ventilation. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. KEEP FROM FREEZING
while in storage or transit before application. LIMITED WARRANTY / LIMITED LIABILITY:
