ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION

"White" ROOF MASTIC has ENERGY STAR® Certification. "White" roofs are encouraged by Cool Communities, the Florida Solar Energy Center,  the U. S. Department of Energy, Secretary Chu and many, many others as an economical way to reduce the "Urban Heat Island", reduce peak-load energy use and help our environment. As quoted on the Environmental News Network, the installation of White Roofs can even slow global warming!

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY APPROVAL

SOMAY ROOF MASTIC MUST PASS, EQUAL OR EXCEED the pre-established specifications established by The Product Control Division, Office of Building Code Compliance of Miami-Dade County, Florida, to be Miami-Dade County Approved. This requires a long list of sophisticated tests which must be conducted by a Miami-Dade County accredited independent testing laboratory. The conclusion by the independent testing laboratory is shown in the following Statement of Compliance: "This product complies with all of the requirements of the Florida Building Code ... this coating may be applied to galvanized metal, spray polyurethane foam, PVC, single ply and SBS granule surface and modified bituminous membrane, asphalt shingle, clay tile and concrete roofing." Somay's original approval by Miami-Dade County is dated January 14, 1974, over 36 years ago. The original approval by the Southern States Building Code Congress' Committee on Compliance is dated February 27, 1974. Current approvals are effective through 2013.
 

STATE OF FLORIDA

SOMAY ROOF MASTIC has been tested in accordance with ASTM D 6083-97a, and has demonstrated compliance with the Florida Building Code 2007, Table 1507.15.2. Therefore, it has received FL Approval # 12085.1, for roof maintenance on all types of roof surfaces.

FLORIDA SCHOOL PLANT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION

SOMAY ROOF MASTIC has been approved and certified by the Florida School Plant Management Association (FSPMA) after years of testing and real world application for use on any school or educational institution building or structure throughout the State of Florida under Specification Number MP-56.2, Elastomeric Roof Paint/Coating.
