Most coatings, including most waterproofing coatings, should be applied ONLY to absolutely DRY surfaces. However, you usually learn that you need a waterproofing coating only
when it is raining, and you can't wait for the weather to clear and the surface to dry in order to apply a waterproofing coating.
SOMAY can provide a SOLUTION since SOMAY has several
unique coatings and water leak stopping materials which CAN BE APPLIED to DAMP, WET and even UNDERWATER surfaces.
- SOMAY/Andek "RUBBERKOTE 1047"
(Color: Light Gray), a single component, acrylic polymeric, solvent-thinned coating especially engineered as a waterproofing coating for flat roof surfaces which have ponding water following a rainstorm where the use of other coatings will not perform satisfactorily. Can be applied to damp and wet roof surfaces where curing will occur even underwater, regardless of the thickness applied. Adheres to all common roofing materials including asphalt, coal tar, BUR, zinc, tin, steel, aluminum, modified bitumen, etc. Apply at 60 sq.ft./gal./coat to develop 30 mils DFT. - SOMAY/Underwater Technologies® "HYCOTE" 151
(Color: Black), a 2-component, polyamine-cured epoxy, 100% solids, no VOC's, self-priming on steel, concrete, wood, etc. Apply at practical coverage rate of 120 sq.ft./gal. to develop a 10 mil DFT; 60 sq.ft./gal. to develop a 20 mil DFT. At SOMAY's Factory-Direct, Wholesale, "Cash & Carry" Price of $164.99/gal. Kit (both Part A and Part B) costs $0.103/sq.ft./mil dry film thickness, or $1.03/sq.ft. at 10 mils; $2.08/sq.ft. at 20 mils DFT. Clean up with MEK, acetone or other organic solvent. - SOMAY/Carboline A-788 Splash Zone Mastic Compound
(Color: Olive Green). 2-component epoxy-polyamide mastic; 1:1 ratio. 100% solids. Can be applied underwater and
will cure underwater or in air. Adheres to wet or dry surfaces, including aluminum, galvanized or bare steel, fiberglass, wood, concrete, etc. Recommended minimum thickness is 125 mils
