Acrylic "Latex" - Use water as solvent for clean-up.

Alkyd (Oil) - Use mineral spirits as solvent for clean-up

Polyvinyl-Toluene-Butadiene (Rubber) - Use Xylene as solvent for clean-up.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC PAINT FORMULATIONS

SOMAY can supply special Traffic Paint formulations for special conditions, including:

"Carboguard" 890 - Cycloaliphatic amine epoxy with high solids, high build and a high gloss. It has excellent exterior weathering for an epoxy and excellent performance in wet exposures, including salt water immersion. It is excellent for use on floors in waste water treatment plants, pulp & paper, food and pharmaceutical plants. "Carboguard" 890 can withstand normal forklift traffic on a concrete warehouse floor, when the floor surface is properly prepared prior to application of the product.

Aliphatic Urethane Resin with Curing Agent (2-component).  This special urethane coating is for use when chemical resistance plus exceptionally long-term exterior durability and gloss retention is required.

Several old government Traffic Paint Specifications required the use of a chlorinated-rubber resin system. This is a known carcinogen, so SOMAY does not recommend its use and does not allow chlorinated rubber in our manufacturing plant.
